GLECC2026 is now open for submission
Following the success of GLECC2025, we are very pleased to announce that the 2nd International Conference on Globalisation/Deglobalisation in Languages, Education, Culture and Communication (GLECC2026) will be held 28-30 July, 2026, Manchester, UK.
GLECC2025 welcomed over 60 scholars, educators, practitioners and students from 18 countries and regions to the vibrant city of Manchester in July.
A wide-range of thought provoking works were presented by scholars, PhD and master students and practitioners. Highlights include literary translation and technology, cultural memory through the prism of heritage sites in Japan and Korea, linguistic nationalism of Catalan and challenges in Spanish heritage language education in the USA, liberal arts education through theatre practice in a Chinese university, teaching English in Japan and Hong Kong, the role of AI in language teaching and learning, gender issues in Georgian language classrooms, cultural adaption of Iranian students in Austria, Moroccan youth culture and identity, progressive values study in Taiwan.
This cross-disciplinary conference brought down the barriers and provided the opportunity for economists, sociologist, linguists, language educators, translators, historians, artists, educators, cultural practitioners, university administrators to examine the phenomena of globalisation, deglobalisation and reglobalisation and their impact on languages, education, culture and communication.
Out of 40 presented papers, 18 were invited to publish with one of the four AT-Journals. If you submitted a paper to GLECC2025 but were unable to make the conference, you are welcome to resubmit your paper in time for GLECC2026. If you attended GLECC2025, you are welcome to join us again to meet new people and share new ideas. There will be dedicated sessions at the conference to meet the editors and find out how to publish your papers with AT-Journals.
